Manannan Mac Lir

Artist: Irish Art Now

Still walking with sadness and beauty among many a mountain, the rider replied "Everything exists, everything is true and the earth is just a little dust under our feet".

Fire is an unusual site in any Manannan imagery, so I wrote the artists and asked what their inspiration was. This was the response:

"The work was a fire sculpture for a halloween event and as it was to be on the shores of a lough it seemed the poetic thing to call it. I'm sure any observing deity would have enjoyed the revelry and after all it was the waters of the sea that reclaimed the embers the next day. Hope you enjoyed the images."
